Each anchorage should meet the strength in AS/NZS 1891.4. Insert-type anchors (friction, chemical and screw anchors in partial depth holes in concrete or masonry) should not be used where the load is a direct pull-out. Anchorages should be tested and approved by a competent person before use, including pull-out testing of insert anchors because their grip cannot be seen. Each anchorage should be placed so the lanyard can be attached before the user moves into a position where they could fall.
