Australia Model Code of Practice: Hazardous Manual Tasks
Section 1: Duties and managing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders – Australia Model Code of Practice: Hazardous Manual Tasks

Australia Model Code of Practice: Hazardous Manual Tasks 1.3a: 1.3 Eliminate or minimise hazardous manual task risks (primary duty)

A PCBU must eliminate risks arising from hazardous manual tasks or, where that is not reasonably practicable, minimise them so far as is reasonably practicable (WHS Act s 19). The WHS Regulations add a specific duty to manage risks of a musculoskeletal disorder associated with a hazardous manual task. PCBUs must also consult workers and may need to consult, cooperate and coordinate with other duty holders.
