Australia Model Code of Practice: Construction Work 4.2c: 4.2 Construction projects: SWMS reflects the WHS management plan and reaches the principal contractor first (rr 301, 312)

For high risk construction work on a construction project, the SWMS must take into account the principal contractor's WHS management plan, and the PCBU must give the principal contractor a copy before the work starts (r 301). The principal contractor must take all reasonable steps to obtain the SWMS before high risk construction work starts (r 312), for example by requiring contractors to provide it before starting and keep it on site, and by stating this in the WHS management plan.
