The employer must pay an adult employee (other than an apprentice) at least the minimum hourly or, for full-time employees, weekly rate for their classification in Table 4 of the current award (consolidated to 1 July 2026, read 30 September 2026) (rates from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026). Junior employees at levels 1 to 3 receive the age-based percentage in Table 5; apprentices the year-based percentage of the standard weekly rate in Tables 6 to 9 by length of apprenticeship, start date and year 12 completion; adult apprentices the greater of the floors in 17.4, and an existing employee who becomes an adult apprentice keeps their previous rate. An employee doing higher-classified duties for more than 2 hours on a day or shift gets the higher rate for the whole day or shift, otherwise for the time spent. Supported wage employees are paid under Schedule E, and trainees under Schedule E of the Miscellaneous Award 2020 as at 1 July 2026.
