An employee must have at least 12 hours off between finishing work one day and starting the next. If they start again without 12 hours off, the employer must pay each hour at the penalty rate clause 16.6(b) sets until the employee has 12 consecutive hours off, and the employee must not lose pay for ordinary hours not worked during the required break. The employer and an individual or group of employees may agree to a 10-hour minimum instead.
