The roster must be available to all employees on a conveniently located notice board or by accessible electronic means, showing each employee's weekly ordinary hours, working days and start and finish times, and each completed roster must be kept for at least 12 months and produced to an authorised person on request. For employees other than part-timers, the roster may be changed by mutual agreement before the employee arrives for work because of unexpected operational requirements, or permanently on at least 7 days' written notice (14 days if the employee disagrees). Extra time worked because of a one-off, non-emergency change that reverts the next week must be paid at the overtime rate. A roster must not be changed to avoid shiftwork or penalty rates, loadings or other benefits; if it is, the employee is paid as if it had not changed. Consultation about roster changes is required by clause 35.
