Earthing and bonding of plug-connected sets follow Section 2: the set's bonding system connects to the exposed conductive parts of supplied equipment and, where connected to an installation, to its earthing system through the lead. The protective earthing AS/NZS 3000 calls for is achieved by linking the portable set's bonding to the switchboard earth, so the Standard does not generally require its own electrode at the set (4.3.2.2). Winding neutral or centre points connect either to the set's bonding system or to the installation neutral as the Section 2 rules allow.
