Yearly: confirm no fire shutters added, removed or modified; check shutters and frames are tagged to AS 1905.2; check brackets are secure and the barrel sits so the rolled curtain is above the top of the guide tracks; check guide tracks are secure, the curtain overlaps both jambs equally, the gap between slat ends (with end clips) and the track is no more than 10 mm and the shutter runs freely; check the threshold is concrete or similar non-combustible material; check any fusible link is rated no more than 80 degrees C (57 degrees C for a drenched shutter) and in good order, and replace all links 25 years from manufacture (or sample test per Section 2); and test simulated automatic operation, confirming the curtain comes down to the sill at an average speed between 0.15 and 0.3 m/s and does not bounce back to leave a gap over 25 mm under the bottom rail, and check slats, bottom rail, brake release, warning signs, sounders and release delays.
