Three-monthly: simulate a full operational test (mechanical and electrical as appropriate) and confirm the door closes fully from fully open and from one intermediate position. Six-monthly: confirm no sliding fire doors added, removed or modified; check AS 1905.1 tags and statutory signs; check panel clearances and overlaps with the door shut; measure operating force, which must stay within 110 N for a door on an exit path of travel and, for other doors, 180 N from closed and 135 N through full travel; check restraint brackets and interlocking steel flame guards; check suspension hardware and fixings; check fusible links are intact and unpainted, cables are not frayed, kinked, stretched or corroded, and pulleys turn freely; replace all fusible links 25 years from manufacture (or test a representative sample per Section 2); perform a full operational closing test including from an intermediate position and test illuminated signs, sounders and release delays; check guides, stops and travel limiters; check opening direction arrows and pulls; check leaves for delamination, damage, edge capping and unapproved fittings; check frame anchorage; check cavity slider access panels and that the sill has no combustible covering; check multi-leaf alignment and any wicket door; and service power-assisted doors to the manufacturer's procedure.
