Yearly: compare the protected steelwork on site with the drawings and note any member that is new, gone or altered; check the condition of the fire protection system or coating and for mechanical damage; look for deterioration or loss of adhesion of sprayed vermiculite, cement, mineral fibre or plaster protection; check intumescent coatings for bubbling, peeling, flaking and scratches; and look for protective board or cladding that is missing or coming loose.
