Six-monthly (yearly permitted for private apartment entry doors), for each doorset, meaning leaf, essential hardware, frame, inbuilt glazing or grilles and the frame-to-wall connection: check whether it has been modified; check leaf and frame tags to AS 1905.1 and statutory signage; check edge and bottom clearances in the closed position to AS 1905.1 or the test report; check all suspension, closing and latching hardware is fitted, of a make and model fire-tested for that door, correctly located, secure and working, and that there are no unapproved fittings or damage from relocated hardware; verify the door opens and closes easily in normal and fire mode allowing for pressurization, self-closes and self-latches where required, with at least 35 mm clearance from knobs to the stop; check closers for oil leaks and obstruction through the swing; check seals are approved, working and undamaged; check leaves for delamination, warping or damage and edges for splitting; check frame stop dimensions, back-filling of steel frames, distortion, striker plate and condition; check vision panels, glass and trim are approved and sound; check any air transfer grille or damper is approved for the door; verify any travel-limiting device; check the threshold has no added combustible covering and kickplates are secure; check meeting stile astragals and seals on pairs; and test hold-open doors close on detector activation and on power failure.
