The Standard applies to conventional timber-framed single and two-storey buildings within these limits in the predecessor: essentially rectangular, square or L-shaped plans or combinations of rectangles; no more than two storeys of timber framing; building width up to 16 000 mm excluding eaves; wall height up to 3000 mm floor to ceiling at common external walls; roof pitch up to 35 degrees; bracing elements in single or upper storeys no more than 9000 mm apart (lower storeys and subfloors per the bracing section); roofs that are hip, gable, skillion, cathedral, pitched or trussed; and building masses determined before members are selected from the Span Tables.
