ACCME Accreditation Requirements and Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education S3-5: Standard 3.5: disclose relevant relationships and their mitigation to learners before the education, naming companies without logos or product messages, and disclose absence of relationships

What does S3-5 require?

Learners must receive, before engaging with the education and in a form verifiable at accreditation, the names of individuals with relevant financial relationships, the names of the ineligible companies, the nature of each relationship and a statement that all relevant relationships have been mitigated. Ineligible companies are identified by name only, never by logo, trade name or product-group message. Learners must also be told which planners, faculty and other content controllers have nothing relevant to disclose. Non-clinical education, learner-controlled peer discussion and self-directed learning are exempt from identification, mitigation and disclosure.
