ACCME Accreditation Requirements and Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education S3-3-4: Standards 3.3 and 3.4: identify relevant financial relationships and mitigate them before the role begins, documenting the steps

What does S3-3-4 require?

The provider must determine which disclosed relationships are relevant, meaning the content under that person's control concerns the ineligible company's products or lines of business, and must take steps to prevent those with relevant relationships from inserting commercial bias. Mitigation happens before the person assumes the role, with steps appropriate to the role (planner steps differ from faculty steps and occur before planning begins), and every mitigation step must be documented.
