Western Australia Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 142-143T: Demolition work: notify, plan, control the risks and hold a WA demolition licence where required

What does 142-143T require?

A business carrying out demolition work must manage its risks, give the regulator at least five days' written notice before demolition involving load-bearing structures, structures over the stated height, explosives or other listed circumstances, and must ensure the work is planned and carried out in accordance with the method required by the Part, including protecting adjoining property and the public. Western Australia also requires a demolition licence for the classes of demolition work the regulations prescribe, with a licensing, amendment, renewal, suspension and cancellation process in Divisions 1 to 4 of the licensing provisions.
