Only poisonous or toxic materials needed for operation and maintenance (cleaning, sanitizing, pest control) are on the premises (Pf), except packaged products for retail sale. They are used according to law, the Code, the manufacturer's label (pesticides only if the label allows use in a food establishment) (P), certification conditions for pest control materials (P) and any regulator conditions, and applied so employees and others are not endangered (P) and food and clean items are protected from drips, drains, fog, splash or spray by removing or impermeably covering them or other measures, with equipment and utensils cleaned and sanitized after application (P). Restricted use pesticides are applied only by a certified applicator or under their direct supervision (Pf). Containers that held poisonous or toxic materials are never used to store, transport or dispense food or clean items (P).
