Domestic certifiers must issue certificates on or before distribution and all certifiers must provide certificates to CPSC or CBP within 24 hours of a request and furnish them to each distributor and retailer (electronic certificates identified by a unique identifier on the product, carton or invoice are allowed); certificates and supporting test and component records must be kept for at least five years from creation.
