Toilet and bathing facilities, where installed, follow 213, and where a building uses the 206.2.3 exceptions to omit an accessible route to other storeys, compliant toilet rooms must still exist on the accessible storey. Each toilet room and bathing room meets 603, with exceptions for single-user rooms grouped at one place (half must comply), portable units grouped together (5 percent), and detention and residential allowances; unisex rooms are allowed and in alterations may stand in for making existing rooms accessible under stated conditions. Within each room, a compliant water closet (and 5 percent of each extra type), a urinal where more than one exists, lavatories (5 percent, a minimum of one), a mirror, a shower or bathtub (a minimum of one, roll-in showers in transient lodging and medical care), coat hooks and shelves must comply, and accessible rooms must be identified where not all rooms comply.
