The responsibility and methods for release are documented and implemented so product is released by authorised personnel once every inspection and test has been completed and written up and show legislative and food safety controls are met, with release records kept (2.4.7.1). Release includes confirming labels comply with food law in the countries of manufacture and use or sale where known; bulk or unlabelled product is accompanied by information on its safe use (2.4.7.2). Where positive release rests on pathogen or chemical testing, nothing leaves until satisfactory results are in, and off-site or contract warehouses are told and checked to follow this (2.4.7.3).
