SQF Code Edition 9 - Safe Quality Food 2.4.1: 2.4.1 Food Legislation (Mandatory)

The site ensures finished products, at delivery to customers, comply with food safety legislation in the countries of manufacture and sale, covering among other things food safety itself, residue limits, packaging, how the product is described, net weight, labelling of nutrition, allergens and additives, identity-preserved food labelling, all other legal criteria, and the industry codes of practice that apply (2.4.1.1). How the site keeps up to date, and who is responsible for it, on new or amended law, on developments in science and technology, on newly emerging food safety risks and on industry codes of practice is documented and put into practice (2.4.1.2). SQFI and the certification body are notified in writing within twenty-four hours of a regulatory warning or event, with the notice to SQFI sent by email (foodsafetycrisis@sqfi.com) (2.4.1.3).
