A suitable external environment is set up, monitored and periodically reviewed; the premises and their surroundings, storage facilities, machinery and equipment are kept clear of debris and waste, and vegetation is controlled so it does not attract pests or threaten sanitary operation (11.1.8.1). Paths, roads and loading areas are maintained so they pose no hazard, drained to prevent pooling, with their own drains, not tied into the site drainage, cleared of debris regularly (11.1.8.2). Paths from amenities to site entrances are effectively sealed (11.1.8.3).
