Development assurance data are assigned to system control categories that set the configuration management activities applied (Table 3): category 1 data (for example certification plans and safety assessment documents) are controlled with the full set of activities including problem reporting and formal change management, and category 2 data with a reduced set such as identification and version control, the category for each data item following Appendix A and the development assurance level.
