RICS Rules of Conduct and Global Professional Standards PAM-2a: Agency: honest business-seeking and transparent fees and terms

Members and firms must not win business by dishonest, deceitful, manipulative or misrepresenting methods, and must describe their services accurately and accessibly. They must: state in writing how fees and other charges (including local taxes) are calculated, when and to whom they are payable and what follows late payment, disclosing dual fees; set out terms of business covering services, instruction period, amendment and termination and any early-termination liability; have the terms agreed by the client; observe local cooling-off periods; and declare in writing any referral fee, commission or benefit received or expected from recommending third-party services.
