Regulation on the European Health Data Space (EHDS) 8: Honour patient restrictions and any national primary-use opt-out, with a vital-interest override that is logged

Articles 8, 10 and 11(5): natural persons may restrict health professionals' and providers' access to all or part of their data, are told this may affect their care, and the restriction itself is not visible to providers; Member States set the rules and safeguards. Member States may also provide a reversible opt-out from access through the access and professional services, with rules and possible vital-interest access. Where access is restricted, the professional is not told the restricted content; access may be granted to protect the data subject's vital interests, logged clearly and visible to the patient.
