Chapter 7: Screening requirements for employers and businesses – Queensland Working with Children Check Act 2000

Queensland Working with Children Check Act 2000 s176B: s 176B Operators of regulated businesses hold a clearance

A person must not carry on a regulated business unless they hold a working with children clearance (up to 500 penalty units or 5 years' imprisonment). For a corporation, particular executive officers are taken to carry on the business (s 14), so each needs a clearance; a clearance holder who starts a regulated business must tell the chief executive of the change in business information within 7 days (s 328B).
