Where the agreement must be in writing, on or before the day the tenant moves in the lessor or agent prepares a condition report for the premises and inclusions in the approved form, signs it and gives the tenant a copy. When the tenant returns the copy (within 7 days, marked with any disagreement), the lessor or agent copies it and returns it within 14 days, and keeps the signed copy (or another copy if none was returned) until at least one year after the last agreement it covers ends. A renewal for the same premises can rely on the original report.
