A lessor or agent that requires prospective tenants to apply uses the approved application form, which asks only for name and contact details, previous tenancies, current employment, income, referees, intended term and any other prescribed information. It nominates at least two ways to submit the application, at least one of which is not a restricted way (a third-party online platform that is not a real estate agent collecting the applicant's personal information for the lessor). Social and community housing lessors listed in s 57B(7) are exempt.
