Where the contracting party (or an authorised person) may give directions without the contracted party's agreement, an oral direction may be given unless the contract says otherwise, but the contracted party may ask for it in writing and need not comply until it is written, and the contracting party commits an offence if it is not given in writing within 3 business days. Directions include agreements, approvals, certificates, instructions, notices, orders and requests. Maximum penalty 80 penalty units.
