The holder of an authority must not let out, hire or lend it or permit anyone else to use it (1,000 penalty units for a corporation, 200 otherwise; a court convicting the holder must cancel the authority). The holder must immediately produce the authority for inspection when asked by a person they have contracted with or offered to work for, the owner or occupier of the place where they are working or have contracted to work, a person authorised by the Secretary or by a local or public authority controlling the work, a Fair Trading investigator, or (for medical gas technician work) the chief executive or nominee of the medical facility (40 penalty units for a corporation, 20 otherwise).
