When a contractor licence is suspended automatically because a court or Tribunal building claim order was not paid by the due date (suspension takes effect 28 days after the due date unless a stay is produced, and lasts until the Secretary is satisfied the order has been complied with), the holder must, as soon as practicable, lodge the licence with the Secretary or a signed statement giving accurate and complete reasons why it cannot be lodged. The same duty applies immediately after an authority is cancelled or the Secretary varies it or imposes a condition by notice (a replacement is then issued for the rest of the term). Maximum penalty 40 penalty units for a corporation and 20 otherwise.
