NFPA 70 National Electrical Code 2023 Article 700 Emergency Systems 700.3(F): 700.3(F) Temporary source of power for maintenance or repair

Where the emergency system depends on one alternate source that will be out for maintenance or repair, it must have permanent switching to connect a portable or temporary source for that period: connecting it must not need changes to permanent wiring, transfer must meet 700.12, the connection point is marked with phase rotation and bonding needs, interlocking stops the sources being paralleled, a contact signals remotely that the permanent source is disconnected, the connection point is outdoors with no cables through windows or doors, and a field label gives voltage, maximum current, load-side short-circuit rating and conductor identification. Manual switching and load bank use of the switching means are allowed. It is not needed where the dependent processes can be shut down, the building is empty with fire protection unaffected, other temporary means can substitute, or a second permanent source exists (2026: 700.4(F), with listed interlocks, overcurrent protection and neutral switching added).

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
