New Zealand Commerce Act 1986 57W-57ZY: Water services consumer protection: disclose consumer experience information and comply with any Commission service quality code

What does 57W-57ZY require?

Part 4A protects consumers of water services: the Commission may include consumer protection requirements in water services information disclosure (complaints, service levels, consumer experience), regulations may set consumer protection measures, and the Commission may issue guidelines on industry service quality codes, review them and make a Commission service quality code where needed. A supplier covered by a Commission service quality code must follow it, under Commission monitoring, and contravention attracts pecuniary penalties, compensation orders, injunctions, disclosure orders and offences under sections 57ZK to 57ZT.
