Kolb Experiential Learning Cycle E1: Facilitator role: help learners connect with and reflect on their experience

What does E1 require?

In the facilitator role the educator helps learners reconnect with their own experience and think it over, using a warm and affirming manner to bring out their interests, intrinsic motivation and self-knowledge, often by facilitating small-group conversation, and builds personal, trusting relationships with learners. The role links most closely to the imagining, reflecting and experiencing styles and is central where development of those styles matters, as in art education.
