Before making a product available the distributor checks that it bears the CE marking, comes with the required documents and with instructions and safety information in Italian or English, and that the manufacturer and importer have met their duties. A product it believes non-conforming is kept off the market until it conforms, and the manufacturer or importer and the ministry are informed. It protects conformity in storage and transport, ensures corrective measures or withdrawal for non-conforming products it has made available, informs the ministry and other Member States' authorities immediately, and supplies information and cooperates on reasoned request.
