A manufacturer may appoint an authorised representative by written mandate; the mandate must allow it at least to keep the declaration and technical documentation for five years for checks by the ministry and other surveillance authorities, supply them on reasoned request the information and documents proving conformity, and cooperate with them on bringing products within the mandate into conformity. The design duty and the drafting of the technical documentation cannot be delegated.
