The manufacturer must ensure products it places on the market are designed and made to the Article 3 requirements, prepare the technical documentation under Annex III, carry out or have carried out the Annex III conformity assessment and, where it is positive, draw up the EU declaration of conformity and affix the CE marking, and keep the technical documentation and declaration for five years from placing on the market.
