ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207:2017 6.4.4: Architecture Definition process: develop, assess and select an architecture expressed in consistent views

What does 6.4.4 require?

The project ensures the architecture addresses identified stakeholder concerns, develops architecture viewpoints, defines the system's context, boundaries and external interfaces, develops views and models, allocates significant concepts, properties, behaviours, functions and constraints to architectural entities, identifies system elements and their interfaces, assesses the architecture candidates, achieves an architectural basis for the life cycle processes and alignment with requirements and design, makes the enabling systems available and develops traceability from the architectural entities back to the stakeholder requirements and the system/software requirements. Activities: prepare, develop viewpoints, develop models and views of candidates, relate the architecture to design, assess candidates, manage the selected architecture.
