ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207:2017 6.4.13: Maintenance process: sustain the system's capability to provide its service

What does 6.4.13 require?

The organisation identifies the maintenance constraints that influence requirements, architecture or design, makes the enabling systems available, makes replacement, repaired or revised elements available, reports the need for corrective, perfective or adaptive changes, and determines failure and lifetime data including costs; it monitors the system's capability, records incidents, takes action of the corrective, adaptive, perfective and preventive kinds and confirms that capability is restored, and provides logistics support. Maintenance works closely with configuration management and may spawn a new development project for major upgrades. Activities: prepare for maintenance, perform maintenance, perform logistics support, manage the results.
