ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207:2017 6.4.12: Operation process: use the system to deliver its services and support the customer

What does 6.4.12 require?

The organisation identifies the operation constraints that influence requirements, architecture or design, makes available the enabling systems, the services and the material that operation needs, provides trained and qualified operators, delivers system services that meet stakeholder requirements, monitors system performance during operation, and supports the customer, analysing operational anomalies against agreements, stakeholder requirements and organisational constraints; software is usually operated within a wider environment of other systems and services whose security, availability and performance also matter. Activities: prepare for operation, perform operation, manage the results, support the customer.
