A procedure for reviewing requests, tenders and contracts ensures that the objectives of the scheme are sufficiently defined and match customer needs, the requirements are properly defined, written down and understood, the provider has the capability and resources to meet them, and the scheme is technically appropriate to the application or field; the review matters most for a bespoke scheme or an unusual level or frequency of participation and can be simplified for routine enrolment in a catalogued scheme. The review covers every aspect of the request including externally provided products and services, records of reviews and significant changes and of pertinent customer discussions are retained, the customer is told of any deviation from the contract, and when an amendment to a request or contract arrives once the scheme is under way the review is repeated and amendments reach all affected personnel.
