ISO/IEC 17025:2017 - General Requirements for Testing and Calibration 8.9: Management reviews (Option A)

What does 8.9 require?

At planned intervals laboratory management shall review the management system, including its policies and objectives, to make sure it remains suitable, adequate and effective. The inputs to the review shall be recorded and shall cover: changes in internal and external issues relevant to the laboratory; how far objectives have been met; whether policies and procedures are still suitable; where actions from earlier reviews stand; the results of recent internal audits; corrective actions; assessments made by external bodies; changes in the amount or type of work or the range of activities; feedback from customers and staff; complaints; how effective implemented improvements have been; whether resources are adequate; the results of identifying risks; what assuring the validity of results has shown; and other relevant matters such as training and monitoring activities. The outputs shall record decisions and actions concerning how effective the management system and its processes are, improving laboratory activities in line with this document, the resources needed, and any need for change.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 4 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
