Clause 6.4: Labour practices – ISO 26000:2010

ISO 26000:2010 6.4.7: Labour practices issue 5: Human development and training in the workplace

What does 6.4.7 require?

An organization should: give every worker, at every point in their working life, fair and non-discriminatory access to skills development, training, apprenticeships and chances to progress in their career; make sure, when needed, that workers losing their jobs through redundancy get help finding new work, training and counselling; and set up programmes, run jointly by management and workers, that promote health and well-being. Human development here means widening people's choices by building their capabilities and functioning, so that they can live long, healthy lives, gain knowledge and enjoy a decent standard of living.
