People who work in or enter areas in which products or materials are handled, moved or stored wear clothing that is fit for purpose, clean, in good condition and not a contamination risk. Lockers for workwear are kept clean and free of rubbish and soiled clothing. Clothing designated for protecting product or for hygiene is worn correctly and used for nothing else. Where appropriate, workwear is laundered by suitable methods and at suitable intervals and covers enough to stop hair and perspiration reaching product; hair, beards and moustaches are fully enclosed by restraints; product-contact gloves are fit for purpose, clean to the degree their use demands, in good condition and controlled so they do not become a contamination source; footwear suits the activity in the area; personal protective equipment is designed not to contaminate product; and all of it is kept hygienic.
