Drawing on learners' and others' input, managers, educators and support staff can find ways to make services more accessible, applying reasonable judgment about what is possible within a given time. In delivery the organization should use targeted differentiated instruction, approaches that build self-awareness, self-regulation and metacognition, balance learner, educator, course and context needs within wider frameworks, and flexibly apply individual measures (curriculum modification, self-direction, tutoring and mentoring). In assessment it should offer many and varied ways to show mastery, scaffolded activities and assessments, and flexible individual measures including suitable evaluation methods. Learners needing specific help to reach agreed outcomes are accommodated in a way that balances their needs, the integrity of the outcomes and the organization's capacity (8.5.1.6.1 to 8.5.1.6.4).
