Managing an audit programme – ISO 19011:2018

ISO 19011:2018 5.4.2: Competence of individual(s) managing audit programme

Guidance: those managing the programme should have the competence to manage it, its risks and opportunities and its issues both efficiently and effectively, drawing on an understanding of audit principles, methods and processes, management system standards and other relevant references, the auditee and its context (issues, interested parties, activities, products, services and processes), and applicable statutory, regulatory and other requirements; familiarity with risk management, with managing projects and processes, and with ICT may also be taken into account. They should engage in continual development to maintain that competence.
