Clause 6: Resource management in projects – ISO 10006:2017

ISO 10006:2017 6.2.4: Team development

What does 6.2.4 require?

Teams perform well when members are individually competent, motivated and ready to work together. To improve performance, the team as a whole and each member should take part in team development activities, and staff should be trained in, and made aware of, how their project work matters for reaching the project and quality objectives (see ISO 10015). Good teamwork should be recognized and, where suitable, rewarded. The project organization's managers should establish a working environment that fosters excellence and effective working relationships, with trust and respect inside the team and toward everyone else involved, and should encourage and develop decisions reached by consensus, structured resolution of conflict, communication that is clear, open and effective, and shared commitment to satisfying the customer (leadership is discussed in 5.2.3). As far as possible, people who are affected when the project or its organization changes should help plan and carry out the change.
