Hersey & Blanchard Situational Leadership Model
Performance readiness and development levels (R1 to R4, D1 to D4) – Hersey & Blanchard Situational Leadership Model

Hersey & Blanchard Situational Leadership Model R2: Unable but willing or confident (SLII D2 Disillusioned Learner: some competence, low commitment)

What does R2 require?

Situational Leadership R2: the follower cannot yet do the task but is keen and trying hard (unable but willing), or is confident as long as the leader is there to guide (unable but confident); the matched style is S2 Selling. SLII D2, the disillusioned learner: some knowledge and skill but not yet competent, frustrated, discouraged, perhaps overwhelmed or ready to quit, inconsistent, and needing reassurance that mistakes are part of learning; matched with S2 Coaching. Both lineages match this level with high direction and high support, for different reasons.
