FSSC Development Program Version 2.0 P3-4.3: Assessment duration

What does P3-4.3 require?

The CAB sets and documents assessment time from the application data: an assessment day is eight effective hours (never over ten, and only within ILO and national rules); time is stated in hours, excludes planning, reporting and travel, counts only registered qualified assessors and not experts, interpreters, observers or trainees, and deviations are recorded with reasons. At least half goes on operational food safety planning, PRPs and control measures, including facility tour, trace exercise and records. The minimum is one day under 100 FTE with one or two HACCP studies, one and a half days at 100 FTE or more or three or more studies (FTE counted on the main shift plus office and seasonal staff), with more time for complexity or several categories. At least two hours is added for a separate head office (with up to a 20 percent reduction per site for centrally controlled functions) and for each off-site store, interpreters add at least 20 percent, and combined assessments report the full combined time.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
