Every item of equipment and every protective system carries durable, readable marking showing at least the manufacturer's name, registered trade name or mark and address, the CE marking, the series or type designation, any batch or serial number, the year of construction, the specific marking of explosion protection followed by the group and category symbols and, for group II, the letter G for gas, vapour or mist atmospheres and/or D for dust, plus all information essential for safe use where necessary.
