A manufacturer that considers or has reason to believe that a product it placed on the market does not conform must at once take the corrective action needed to bring it into conformity, or withdraw or recall it as appropriate. Where the product presents a risk, it must immediately inform the competent authorities of the Member States where it was made available, giving details of the non-compliance and the corrective measures. On a reasoned request it must give a competent authority, on paper or electronically and in a language the authority easily understands, all information and documentation needed to show conformity, and cooperate on any action to eliminate the risks of its products.
